Notice in this line of verses, God was first lightly esteemed and forsaken, provoked to jealousy with strange gods, they sacrificed to devils not to God, the God of creation has been forgotten, reduced to a fable, and not given credit for being the sustainer of ALL things that he is. We already see this process today, God is reduced from being a creator to being one who has to manipulate genetics to form evolution in our public schools. He plays second fiddle to making money, third fiddle to our favorite TV programs, computer time, play time, tech toys for some and vehicle toys for others, all in all, God plays a small role in today's society. The foundation of Creation has been reduced, and few people remain who believe that God created the entire universe out of nothing, and sustains every element in it continually. That will be a whole other article, but science cannot understand why a nucleus full of like particles stays together?

OK, the turning away from God to other Gods is established in this part of Deuteronomy, and by the events portrayed in the end times prophecies, we know that the Devil himself will take the form of a man, or will possess a man and will rule the world. People will bow down and worship the image of the Beast, and the Antichrist will proclaim himself to be God. God's anger and Jealousy will be obviously peaked by this point, the only other time in history when all of mankind fell to such perversion and ignored God and his moral nature, he killed every living thing that walked the face of the earth with a flood, except for one man and his family, and a sample of each specie of animal. Now lets continue in Deuteronomy to see what Gods anger and jealousy causes.
