Genesis 1:9-10

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

The gathering of the waters into one place, and the rising of rocks out of the waters is contrary to natural events when looked at in their elemental states. Rock is heavier than water, and should sink to the bottom, water should by all rights be covering the entire surface of the globe. The rising of the land above the seas is seemingly preternatural, (beyond the natural course), and is done for the purpose of giving man a dwelling place.

Psalm 33:7-10 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. 10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

Psalms 78:13 He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.

Jeremiah 5:22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it. Thinking upon the LORD's word through Jeremiah, the weight and force of the oceans currents and waves should rapidly erode the beaches to nothing, and in the course of just one million years, (if the earth had been here that long), there should be no land left other than a few active volcanic islands here and there, which also would get washed away in a relatively short period of time. The force of the water in Hawaii creates black sand for their beaches, and it should all rinse right off the mountain sides, and roll downhill to the depths of the sea itself.

In conclusion to the study of this verse, I cannot think of any better words than those spoken of by the LORD to Job in chapter 38:8 8-11 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb 9 When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, 10 And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, 11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

Science of today knows of course that there are huge rock plates upon which the continents set, but if we set science in it's proper place, and listen to the true science of evolution and creation, then it becomes obvious that everything is in place, including the huge plates that hold our continents up, are only there because God ordained it so. Science itself only exists because God ordained it, this is why Nuclear physicists cannot give a good explanation why an atoms nucleus holds together in spite of it being composed of like charges which repel each other. Evolutionists claim a change from one specie of animal to another, even though they cannot explain how a self replicating genetic science can suddenly decide to create new chapter in a more complex organism.

Likewise, we walk on dry land by the grace of God and His goodness.....
