Eternal Punishment
Is that too severe and why an eternity?
The question of eternity is not something that we think of in the proper perspective. We are man, not living in the spiritual world, but rather we are living in a physical world. We cannot fathom what an eternity is and we cannot fathom what the spiritual world is. Eternity is a question of time, it goes on forever without end, but time is only a concept based on Movement.
In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth. The creation word used was the Hebrew word Bara, which means out of nothing. Here is where it starts to sound like science fiction, but bear with me. Time is a measurement of movement, until physical matter was created, and movement of the stars and planets set in place, there was no time. Time is not something that can be measured without movement. If it were eternally 12 noon, there would be no minutes, no seconds, nothing but a perpetual existence. In Revelation God will destroy this heaven and earth with a loud noise and a flash of light, basically I believe He will withdraw His force which can be the only known explanation for why the Nucleus of an atom holds together even though they are all Positrons which should by all rights be fighting to get away from each other. The universe will undergo a total nuclear disassembly and all the positive and negative energy particles will cancel each other out. Space will cease to exist, as it too is only a part of the physical universe.
Once the New Heaven and the New earth are created, there will be no sun to light the earth, the Son's light by God's Glory will be the only light needed, it will be perpetually daytime, and time itself will become non existent. This means that your only chance of choosing correctly and obtaining salvation are in the here and now of time. once you die, and the Judgement takes place, there will be no time to change, no chance to regain what has been lost. Please, search the Son and find Him, it is your only chance.
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. - Dan Dunkin
