Matthew

Chapter 24 verse 46 - 51

46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

 When He returns, those who are not ready are cast out forever...

In Having read all this, what is Jesus telling them?  They have asked Him when will he return, the Disciples wanted to know when they would see Him again.  No where in the response Jesus gave them did He say they would be saved from tribulation or from the persecution, in fact He clearly told them, you will be hated by all the nations.  Where do we figure that with our luxurious lives we've been handed in modern society, that we should have privledges not granted to any other Christian through out the course of time?  Through out History, entertainment came primarily through fellowship with others, for Christians it was Christian fellowship.  People got together, they read their Bibles.  Our lives are so interupted with television, sports, computers, cars and amusement parks, fellowship has basically disappeared.  As little as 50 years ago people would sit on their porch of an evening and neighbors would chat together, families would sit around in the evening reading the Bible and talking, maybe over a game of cards, but there was rapore.  Today's Christians are probably the most under nurished spirits of all time, yet Jesus should come and save us from being persecuted?  If anyone should have been spared, it should probably have been His disciples.

God's word has informed us, from those who have much, much will be expected.  You have a computer, you have access to a wealth of Biblical information, you can get a computerized Bible and search any topic, any use of words, so what are you doing with all your resources?

Let's move on to more Scripture First let's examine Luke 17:29-30
