Rapture

When reading this parable, I know many turn away from this viewpoint of the rapture, but I ask you to consider what is written in the Bible about the time of the rapture.  Even this parable, listen closely to what Jesus is telling us here.  This is not just an innocuous story, Jesus knew what He was saying, He was saying what His Father in Heaven instructed Him to say.  Why would this story have even been used as an example of the coming of the Bridegroom were it not a forewarning to be prepapred.  Notice also hidden within the parable is a warning to those who were not prepared for the long wait. When I first began to realize that the scriptures do not exacly say there is a pre trib rapture, and I began to see evidence for myself of a post tribulation rapture, I was really taken back. It took me some time, valuable time to come to a spiritual acceptance of this event and the possibility that I may be here along with everyone else, and in the face of what is coming, I think that time needed can be fatal to those not prepapred.  Please, I beg you, for your own spiritual strength, read this parable, think about it, meditate upon it, pray about it, and ask God what He is really telling us here. I love all my brothers in Christ, even those whom I think may have gotten something wrong, I too am fallible, but Gods word I believe is infallible.  To the best of all the commentaries, and to the greatest minds in theology of all time, with sincere love and respect, let me say let every man be a liar and Gods word be true. Your minister will answer for misguidance he may have given, but you will answer for your own soul, therefore if you love Jesus, read His words.

Parable of the Ten Virgins

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone outa.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Of course the obvious and simplest interpretation is based on the final verse of being prepared because we know not the time or the hour, but lets look at the entire parable closely, after all, Jesus IS the Bridegroom and this is all about His return so examine this parable closely.

The Oil is the Spirit which provides the fuel of our spiritual light.  When the ten virgins went out, notice 5 of them did not bring a lot of oil with them, they did not think they would need it.  They became complacent figuring the Bridegroom would come in a timely fashion, they already anticipated His arrival.  Those who were wise werre not complacent in their self assuredness that He would arrive before sunset, so in case He did not arrive when the others thought he would, they stocked up and brough oil with them.
