Matthew

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

This shows His return

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other

This is the rapture, and remember the sound of the trumpet because God uses this trumpet repeatedly in the declaration of the end of the times and the return of Jesus, which I will show in following verses.

Matt 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

The infamous scripture that tells us there will indeed be a rapture, but it is still chapter 24 of Matthew and it is still in Jesus' description of His return.

48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

This too can be easily seen as a predestined misinterpretation of the Bible, as many servants or wannbes will cling to the interpretation of a pretribulation rapture, because if the Lord does not come when everyone expects it, the tribulation begins and if we are still here, what will happen to many of the millions who have hinged their comfort and complacency on the great hope of being spared the tribulation?  We know what happened to many of the people of Israel who heard Jesus speak when He told them to Love their enemies instead of taking up an army against the Romans.

50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

Many people will lose faith and fall into dispair, the Antichrist and millions of non Christians and fallen believers will say, you know He was supposed to come, so where is He?  Why didn't He save you? Why continue hanging on to a fairy tale?  It will be hard to battle the onslaught of arguments against who the real redeemer is.

51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

This is the end for those who did not prepare themselves for the coming of the Lord and could not answer the questions and the ridicule with a solid foundation of Gods word.

Please read the entire chapter of Matthew 24 very carefully and scrutinize it.  Jesus is telling His followers, (including you and me), what would happen from that day forward until His return, yet no where is there any placement of the removal of any of His followers until the time of the Harvest.  Also consider this, why would God have bothered to inform us of future events we would not be here to see? Scripturally there are verses that inform us that when the Bridegroom comes and the door is open, for those who were not prepared and were left outside when the door was closed, the door will not be reopened. The parable of the tares also stands in direct conflict with a pretrib rapture.  The Bible is full of warnings and of direct literal text telling us Gods plan, yet we as with the people of Israel of 2000 years ago insist on having Gods plan fit into our plans and desires.
