Now the book of Luke

Luke 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

I have not done my end times study and the book of Revelation yet, but for those of you who know, the end comes at the sound of the last trumpet, Gods wrath is poured out on the earth ending with a great earthquake followed immediately by a shower of stones falling from the heaven about 100 pounds each. Just as in the days of Lot, fire and brimstone will be falling from the sky upon His return, (see verse 34 below)

34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

This again is the infamouse quote of the rapture occuring.

1 Cor 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Here again as in the book of Matthew Luke includes the words that we shall not all sleep, but again the rapture, we shall be changed, but notice again the sound of the trumpet. This is a bookmark in time and God tells us when the trumpet will blow in prophecy.

1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Oh what a glorious day for those who survive unfound by the governments, to see His coming and to be changed in the twinkling of an eye into a new and uncorruptible body.  When a devastating day for those who would not believe, or who gave up hope because they may have seen it all wrong.

1Thess 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

At this point in time, what I am saying and what the verses are saying is not popular and is not comforting, in fact I've lost a significant amount of traffic due to my position here, but I will not close my ears to what God seems to be repeatedly telling us in very literal and direct language.  Gods word is infallible, it is the truth, and it will stand.  Jesus will come in Gods timing, not in man's timing. However, during the tribulation when many will suffer, many others will hide from men, these words WILL be words of comfort for the Lord is coming, and He will stand up to His word in Truth.
